7 th January 2012 MATCH BACKGROUNDS

IPW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

REAPER       V      INFERNO

Over the past few months, Reaper has established himself as the ‘Ultimate Cruiserweight’, defending his title against various IPW & Inter-state Challengers! Seemingly no one can stop this ‘Grim’ force! But in December, on our IPW Reunion Show, a battle royal was held with the winner being granted a shot against the Cruiserweight Champ! Every young superstar wanted to prove that they were ready for a shot! In the end, a newcomer by the name of ‘Inferno’ won the match up and earned the right to face ‘The Reaper’But, this rivalry has a deep, dark past. In the days of the Sweatshop, Inferno was previously known as ‘Jett’ and his closest ally at the time – Reaper. When Reaper went after tag team gold, Jett was left to defend himself, ultimately suffering a blind sighted attack by Reaper, forcing him to be sidelined by injury. Now, a returning ‘Inferno’ will face his ultimate challenge, and former friend, ‘Reaper’!

IPW SOUTH PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

CRUZ                Vs           BJ  BLADE

At our last event, a 'Reunion' took place, which celebrated the past 10 years of IPW Australia. Many wrestlers returned, quickly reigniting their old rivalries with one another...Notably, Cruz & BJ Blade had an epic Triple Threat match, which featured the two squaring off against one another and the famed 'Jethro'. With the sneaky BJ Blade stealing the win, Cruz may be looking to score some newly (and much needed) revenge against his old rival, whom he’s battled with throughout WCW, MIW & now IPW!

IMPACT PRO WRESTLING

Impact Pro Wrestling presents
‘WCW vs. MIW vs. IPW REUNION Event’
Saturday December 3rd
at the Ashmore P.C.Y.C Stadium
Dominions Road, Ashmore

MATCH 1 – OVER THE TOP ROPE BATTLE ROYAL
Inferno def. Poison Ivy, ‘Hot Property’ Bronson Hoye, Luke Viper, Synodic, The Geeks, Shock Therapy (Violent Bill & Bob w/ Beryl) & Muze.

Having being defeated by the IPW Cruiserweight Champion, Reaper, a month early, the ‘fiery’ Inferno was looking to pick up a win in a big, big way! Having eliminated almost half of the participants, the matchup was left to Inferno & Synodic. In a spur of quick thinking, Inferno dodged the charging Synodic, sending him toppling over the top rope and being eliminated, thus crowning Inferno the WINNER!

MATCH 2 – GRUDGE MATCH
The Weird One def. Fred Awesome

Before Fred Awesome starting saying that he was, well, ‘awesome’, one wrestler was out to prove that being ‘awesome’ also meant he had to be a bit ‘weird’

Hearing that a reunion show was around the corner, and that Fred Awesome was still boasting of his ‘Awesomeness’, this wrestlers was out to challenge Fred one more time, telling him to put his ‘Awesome’ where his money is… or is that mouth?... Anyway…

As such, from Parts Unknown, The Weird One had scurried back to IPW Australia!

Despite Fred’s best efforts to down the Weird One, it was of no use! As time away from the ring had not swayed or stopped the Weird One. Eventually, Weird One sealed the deal, putting Fred Awesome away and proving that ‘Weird is Awesome’!

MATCH 3 – SINGLE MATCH
Slamming Sam (w/ Synodic) def. Sorrow

The once happy and cheerful superstar, Slamming Sam, has seemingly lost his grin and replaced it with a fiery desire to hurt anyone who opposes him. Now that he’s aligned himself with Synodic, IPW superstars alike are beginning to talk of the dark transformation that the ‘Slamming Superstar’ has taken…

However, an even darker, more devilish superstar emerged to oppose Sam’s new wrestling ways. For on that night, Slamming Sam stood face to face with ‘Sorrow’

The technical prowess of Sorrow shook Sam to his core, as blow by blow, Sorrow began to slowly steal away both energy and  seemingly the soul from Sam. But the ‘Slamming Superstar’ managed to fight back, surprisingly defeating his nemesis via his famed ‘Spike Splash’!

MATCH 4 – ELIMINATION TAG MATCH

The ‘Un-Australians’ (Kiwi Thriller & Sweet Ass), The Mechanic & ‘Wild’ Willy McTavish def. Commando, Wolfman, Black Jack & Dave Law

In a hard out battle, the now ex-tag champions ‘The Un-Australians’ recruited the likes of ‘The Mechanic’ & ‘Wild’ Willy McTavish to help them dispose of ‘Team Army’ which featured Wolfman, Dave Law, a returning Black Jack and was led, front and centre, by the veteran ‘Commando.

However, despite the well thought-out battle plan of ‘Seek and Destroy’, Team Army was no match for the likes of The-Un-Australians, as the ex-champs celebrated their victory!

MATCH 5 – FATAL FOUR WAY
Blizzard def. Tenacious, Kelso Kahoniz & IPW Cruiserweight Champion, Reaper

Having scored a victory last month, the IPW Cruiserweight Champion Reaper had his work cut out for him, as Tenacious and two IPW Veterans, Kelso Kahoniz & ‘The Russian’ Blizzard, returned to the IPW shores looking to extract some heavily built up rage and to settle some very long grudges. Showing that the cruiserweights can do it as good as the big men, Kahoniz and Blizzard took out their knowledge on the younger talent. Eventually, ‘The Russian’ Blizzard had the upper hand, to which eventually lead ‘The Russian’ to his victory!

What happens next? Will Blizzard challenge the young Reaper for a belt that belongs ‘To the Motherland’?! Or will Reaper ‘reap’ another wrestler’s soul?!

MATCH 6 – TAG MATCH
Hercules & Flashman def. ‘Angry’ Angus McTavish & Shorty.

When yours truly first started in IPW, I fought on behalf for my long-time friend and wrestler, Blaze, who became injured during a match against Hercules. Since then, yours truly fell in love with this business and here I am, four and a half years later, still doing what I love. So, it seemed only fitting that on a night of ‘reunions’, that the Flashman search high and low for ‘the mighty’ Hercules, put our differences aside, and team up to face any of the new up and comers in IPW.

Fortunately for me, Hercules agreed, and the match was set. To our surprise, ‘Angry’ Angus McTavish and Shorty answered our challenge, and gave us one hell of a fight. Though the young team used double team moves and cheap shots against me, I managed to escape and tag in Herc, and simultaneously, we cleaned house of the young duo, picking up the win!

MATCH 7 – ‘HARDCORE VS HEAVYWEIGHT’ NO DQ MATCH
IPW Hardcore Champion, Skhorn def. IPW Australian Champion, R.I.P.

These two powerhouses have been at a war with each other for over 2 years. When IPW came to you each week from the Sweatshop, The Lords of Darkness were looking for a fill-in for the then injured Ashe, and collectively decided on hiring R.I.P. Since then, the group went on to Tag Team title victory, before suffering a self-destruction of sorts, with both Skhorn & R.I.P. pointing the blame at one another. So what better way to finally settle the score then to pitch the two against one another with NO RULES!

In what can only be described as ‘complete and utter carnage’, both R.I.P. and Skhorn completely dismantled one another, aided by the use of chairs, chains & wooden bats! After planting R.I.P. on the outside and lifting the Giant high above his head for the infamous ‘Corpse Grinder’, Skhorn picked up the victory!

MATCH 8 – ‘DEATH OF A DYNASTY’ MATCH
Mason Childs vs. Ashe ended in a Time-Limit Draw

As Mason Childs begins to wrap up his famed Pro Wrestling career, Childs came back to where it all began for him, against the man who squared off against Childs in his very first match – Ashe.
As the ‘Resident of Evil of IPW’ stalked Childs with his technical prowess, Childs countered with his own, seemingly ‘schooling’ Ashe. Had the then ‘student’ finally beaten the ‘teacher’?

As Ashe and Childs faced off, move for move, the matchup seemingly tipped in either direction. Despite their combined efforts, neither competitor could seemingly capitalize an advantage over one another, with the matchup going to a time limit!

MATCH 9 – ‘LEGENDS’ TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
BJ Blade def. Jethro & Cruz (w/ Muze).

Throughout the HISTORY of IPW, these three men have seemingly paved the way for all talent in the IPW locker room. They’ve been through brand name changes, tables, chairs, car windows, betrayals, title victories, injuries and countless more moments and mayhem! With the reunion show drawing near, ‘The Heart and Soul of IPW’, Cruz, sent an open invitation to both Jethro & B.J. Blade to put it all on the line ‘One More Time’

From the get go, these three veterans were unleashing a huge barrage of clubbing blows, vicious attacks and seemingly career ending manoeuvres! When one superstar seemingly had the match in hand, the other would intervene and change the entire momentum of the match!

As BJ was incapacitated at ringside, Cruz took the advantage, dropping his famed Slasher on Jethro! The match looked set to be in his grasp, until BJ shoved Cruz to the outside, before mounting the top rope and launching off with a moonsault!

But was it enough to win the match…

Jethro used all his strength to roll out of the way of the falling Blade! As the three wrestlers laid motionless, the IPW audience was on their feet, and, with the assistance of Muze, were trying to revive the three legends via hollering, clapping and cheering! Eventually, Cruz had the match in his hand, pinning Jethro…

As the ref counted the 2… BJ emerged from nowhere, pushing Cruz out of the way and stealing the win! The IPW crowd were both stunned, yet on their feet applauding the three wrestlers for the match and for bringing it all back, One More Time!

SEGMENT 1 – ‘IPW HALL OF FAME INDUCTION – CLASS OF 2011’

The following superstars were a part of the first class of wrestlers inducted into the ‘IPW Hall of Fame Class of 2011’:

Mason Childs
Jethro
Brandy Alexander
Monk

MATCH 10 – ‘BATTLE OF THE TASMAN’ TAG MATCH
Old School Outlaws (IPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS Jackaroo & Poison) def. The Kiwi Connection (Island Boy Si & ‘The Measure’ Dallas Mead)

Last month, IPW Owner Hawk informed Jackaroo & his newly found tag partner, Poison, that this was their ‘last ever chance’ at attempted to dethrone ‘The Un-Australians’ reign as Tag Team Champions. In a total upset, the Australian Icon, Jackaroo, downed and defeated Sweet Ass and promptly started the a new tag team tile reign of the now dubbed ‘Old School Outlaws’

But Sweet Ass had a cunning plan. As the Reunion show approached, Sweet Ass signed over his rematch clause to another two ‘New Zealand’ based wrestlers – hoping that another tag team could bring back the gold to the NZ homeland once more!

But no one expected the NZ replacements to be that of Island Boy Si & ‘The Measure’ Dallas Mead!

So the Old School Outlaws had their first title defence against two of NZ’s biggest men! In a sheer old school matchup, each man fought with every part of their being – with Dallas shockingly picking up Poison over his head and throwing the ‘Aussie Battler’ half way across the ring!

Jackaroo knew that the Outlaws were in dire straits, and decided to step it up against Dallas. As Dallas was stunned, Jackaroo planted ‘The Measure’ on the top rope, before launching him off with an enormous superplex! The sheer pressure and force hitting the ring knocked Poison and Island Boy, whom were mounted on the opposing turnbuckle, out of the ring! Fortunately for Jackaroo, the superplex was enough to keep ‘The Measure’ down, allowing Jackaroo to score a victory for the ‘Outlaws’!

MATCH 1 – TRIPLE THREAT MATCH FOR THE IPW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Reaper def. Inferno and Dave Laws, in a triple threat match, to retain the IPW Australian Cruiserweight Championship, via pinfall on Inferno.

After narrowly losing against interstate talent, ‘The Mathews Brothers’ a mere month earlier, Reaper appears to have returned with a vengeance! Reaper quickly downed the every flamboyant, Dave Law, and a doused the ‘fiery’ Inferno, picking up the pinfall victory! Reaper now has his sights set on the Reunion show, were rumours are that a famous cruiserweight wants a shot at ‘his’ championship

MATCH 2 – IPW AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
RIP def. Cruz (w/ Muze), via pinfall, following "The Bogan Buster", retaining the IPW Australian Championship.

Still fired up after being forced to relinquish the IPW Australian Championship, ‘The Heart and Soul of IPW’ Cruz returned to in-ring action to prove to the new IPW Champion R.I.P. that, despite his injuries, he would win back his famed championship

But R.I.P. had other plans. Despite taking a flurry of forearm shots (which resulted in a blood-induced nose injury), the ‘Gian’t fended off Cruz, showing why he considered himself the ‘Preferred Son’. Despite the efforts of Cruz, the blood soaked R.I.P. was able to put his opponent away via a’Bogan Buster’ slam.

With his unsuccessful rematch, what will Cruz aim to do next? Who will challenge ‘The Heart and Soul of IPW’ on the ‘Reunion’ Show? Will R.I.P. interfere?

MATCH 3 – TAG MATCH
Steven Magnus & Viper def. The Geeks, in a tag team match, when Viper pinned Jimmy Geek following a face crusher.

MATCH 4 – SINGLE MATCH

"Angry" Angus McTavish def. Shorty, via pinfall.

MATCH 5 – SINGLE MATCH
Ashe def. Fred Awesome, via pinfall, following "The Gravedigger".

Having a previous win under his belt, ‘The Resident Evil of IPW’ Ashe was desperate to fill a newly dug ‘grave’ with his latest victim, Fred Awesome. But the self-proclaimed ‘Awesome One’ held his own against the famed veteran. Eventually, Ashe erupted in a fit of rage, destroying Awesome before ‘burying’ him via his infamous ‘Gravedigger’ finisher.

After the match, Fred Awesome was taken to a local hospital, suffering from a knockout injury. As of this writing, Fred Awesome is in a stable condition and we wish him a speedy recovery!

MATCH 6 – TAG MATCH
Minx & Flashman def. Poison Ivy & Slammin' Sam (w/ Synodic), in a mixed tag team match, when Flashman (channelling the spirit of the Undertaker) pinned Sam after a "Last Ride" power bomb.

Four weeks after her original debut, Poison Ivy was looking for some retribution against Minx, hoping to score a victory by enlisting the help of ‘Good Guy Gone Bad’ Slamming Sam & Synodic. But the crafty Minx had a plan up her sleeve, requesting yours truly to assist her in the matchup. Looking to win the match from the get go, I channelled the power of ‘The Undertaker’, inflicting some mental warfare on Ivy & Sam. Despite working well as a duo, the Slamming Superstar and the Toxic Diva found themselves on the losing end of things when yours truly power bombed Sam, allowing Minx to take out Poison Ivy, thus yours truly scoring the clean pinfall victory.

MATCH 7 – IPW HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Skhorn def. Wolfman, via pinfall, in an IPW Hardcore Championship match, following "The Noisy Cricket" to win the IPW Hardcore title.

MATCH 8 – IPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
"The Old School Outlaws" (Poison & Jackaroo) def. "The Un-Australians" (Sweet Ass & Kiwi Thriller) to become the new IPW Australian Tag Team Champions.

Having been told, by IPW Owner Hawk, that this was his ‘last ever chance’, Jackaroo was counting on his newly found tag partner, Poison, to help win the IPW Tag Titles by defeating the Un-Australians.

From the get go, the veterans were unleashing a huge barrage of clubbing blows, vicious attacks and match ending double team moves! Eventually, the action spilled out to ringside, with Poison taking a nasty run into the ring post, busting himself open! With Poison groggy, the pressure was on Jackaroo to fend off the approaching Sweet Ass…

Surprisingly, Jackaroo caught the looming Sweet Ass, quickly planting the “#1 Wrestler” with a Jack Hammer, and as a recovering Poison held the legs of Kiwi Thriller, Jackaroo scored the pinfall victory! The crowd burst into applause as Jackaroo had finally conquered his New Zealand demons, and with Poison, could now celebrate as the NEW IPW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!

But is that all about to change…

For on December 3rd, Impact Pro Wrestling’s celebrates its tenth year in Queensland Pro Wrestling. Along the way, we’ve seen many-a-wrestler come and go from our company... MATCH 1 – Tag Match

"The Un-Australians" (Sweet Ass/Kiwi Thriller) def. Jackaroo/Skhorn, via pinfall, in an IPW Australian Tag Team Championship match.

The kindness of Jackaroo was the ultimate downfall for the unlikely duo in this matchup. With the surprise of Skhorn & Jackaroo teaming together, it seemed that the Australian Wrestling Icon, Jackaroo, had The Un-Australian’s on the verge of defeat! As Jackaroo nailed Kiwi Thriller with his famed ‘Dingo Drop’, Jackaroo followed up with a pinfall, resulting in a 3 count! However, Jackaroo mentioned to the referee that Kiwi’s foot was on the rope and that, in the shape of good sportsmanship, the match should continue on. The Tyrant, Skhorn, took offence at Jackaroo's "Sportsmanship" and nailed his tag partner with "The Corpse Grinder", thus allowing Thriller to sneak in and pin the K.O.’Ed Jackaroo. Jackaroo stated to IPW owner Hawk that next month, he’d find one last partner for one last shot... and vowed if he were unsuccessful, he would leave the tag champions alone for the length of their reign.

MATCH 2 – Grudge Match

Slammin' Sam def. Flashman via pinfall following "Sam’s Slammin' Slam".

It was written in HUGE BOLD PRINT that, upon losing to Slammin Sam at the C3 Fight night, I would indeed be granted a rematch against the ‘Slammin’ Superstar. With my sights set, I took the fight to Sam throughout the whole match. As Sam laid motionless in the ring, it was clear that I should channel all my strength into one last ‘Flashbang’ to put Sam away – But, surprisingly, Sinotic (an MIW superstar) emerged from the lockerroom area, distracting me momentarily. As I had words with the Psycho, Sam recovered and as I turned to face Sam, he quickly scooped me up and planted me down and before you could say “WEIGHT LOSS”, Sam had me pinned and the match was over. I was cheated. Come November, if I play my cards right, Sam and Sinotic will know why I am the Flashman, and I do what needs to be done – and right now, Sam and Sinotic need to be taught a lesson as to why you don’t mess with a ‘Deadman’.

MATCH 3 – 3 on 3 Tag Match

Shorty / "Angry" Angus McTavish / Inferno def. Dave Laws & The Geeks, via pinfall

MATCH 4 – Fatal Four Way Match

Ashe def. Tenacious, Wolfman and the "King of Synn" Scott Black, via pinfall on Tenacious, following "The Gravedigger".

MATCH 5 – Single Match

Minx def. Poison Ivy (w/ Poison) via pinfall, following "The Minx Effect”

MATCH 6 – Final In The Best of Three Series – Lumberjack Match

Poison def. Stephen Magnus, via pinfall, following "The TKO", in a brutal Lumberjack Match.

After weeks of back and forth action, Poison and Steven Magnus were set to settle the score once and for all! With almost the entire IPW Roster present at ringside, the match was full of intensity and fuelled by revenge! During the match, Magnus was thrown out of the ring and into the path of Skhorn! Skhorn, whom was already fuming at his lose for the IPW tag team gold, took out more of his frustration on the young Magnus. Eventually, the match got out of hand so much, that Magnus's own mother interfered in the match, attempting to protect her son from the hordes of the advancing lumberjack attacks. Stephen eventually was thrown back into the ring, to an awaiting Poison, who downed and defeated Magnus with his famed TKO. Following a match ending brawl,  The Un-Australians attempted to jump Poison, but Jackaroo made the save! After warding off the Un-Australians, Jackaroo revealed the reunion of "The Old School Outlaws" (Poison & Jackaroo) and the final tag team challenge partner for Jackaroo.

MATCH 7 – Hardcore Tag Match

Canberra's Blade Mathews/Sabre Mathews def. Reaper/Fred Awesome, via pinfall, after Blade hit Reaper with an "Emerald Fusion" off the top rope, through a table.

MATCH 8 – IPW Australian Championship

RIP def. "The Future" Nick Burns, via pinfall, following "The Bogan Buster", to become the new IPW Australian Champion.

Before the match began, Cruz (w/ Muze) emerged and stated that, due to injury, he would have to vacate the Championship Gold. However, the match would still take place with long-time rival turned friend, ‘The Future’ Nick Burns, returning to replace Cruz in the match. Burns made several attempts at a cross arm breaker during the match, which was closely followed up by some viciously Muay Thai based shots that levelled the giant R.I.P down. But R.I.P. kept recovering and fight off The Future’s advances. Seeing that his friend was in dire need of assistance, Cruz grabbed a nearby Kendo Stick and, as the referee was incapacitated, attacked R.I.P. But R.I.P. quickly dodged the attack, and thus, The Future was hit! Releasing that the referee was recovering, Cruz ducked out of the ring, hoping that Burns would recover… But it was too little, too late. R.I.P. capitalized and dismantled the now-dazed Burns, downing the MMA fighter and capturing the IPW AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP

With the Age of R.I.P. now upon us, it seems only fitting that the next IPW Show is Halloween-style based. What deadly and horrific punishment will R.I.P. lash out on the next contender? Will Cruz challenge for a rematch? Will Magnus strike back? Will Sam and Sinotic have their way with the Flashman? Or will fall victim to the ‘Undead’?

Be there, SATURDAY NOVEMBER 5th at the ASHMORE PCYCY, When IPW proudly presents “HUNT 4 HALLOWEEN”!

Stephen Magnus def Poison via a schoolboy roll-up pin as Poison attempted his "TKO" finisher. Magnus countered and quickly stole a win via a rollup pin Poison immediately challenged Magnus to a rematch in October, dubbing it a "Fans Choice" match! What do you think, IPW World, would be the best way to settle their recent rivalry? Odd's are looking at an infamous "Hardcore Lumberjack Match"?! Perhaps yours truly, The Flashman, should get involved?

MATCH 7 - HANDICAP MATCH FOR THE WCW / IPW TAG TEAM LEGACY CHAMPIONSHIP"
The Un-Australians" (Sweet Ass/Kiwi Thriller) def. Jackaroo in an impromptu handicap match for the IPW Tag Team Championship.Jackaroo was set to wrestle 'The Pharaoh' in an 'Old School Flashback Match', until The Un-Australians interrupted The Pharaoh's entrance, challenging Jackaroo to a title shot. Though outmanned, Jackaroo accepted his shot at the gold, and an unhappy Pharaoh immediately took out his frustration on The Un-Australians! But alas, due to the unfair numbers, a prior injury to Jackaroo's knee and a barrage of underhanded and dirty manoeuvres, the champs reclaimed their titles.Come October 7th, Jackaroo has vowed to find a suitable partner and has asked for a proper rematch! Who will team with the 'Aussie Icon'? Will the 'Un-Australians' even accept the challenge?!

IPW Owner Hawk verbally intervened, driving RIP from the ring. As R.I.P. left the ring, admiring his handiwork, IPW Owner Hawk stated that R.I.P had now put his # 1 Contention in jeapoardy, following his disrespectful actions and impatience, and that he (Hawk) would review R.I.P. promised title shot against Cruz for October

MATCH 1 - SINGLE MATCH (NON-TITLE)

‘The Russian’ Blizzard def. Cruz (w/ Muze), via DQ.

Having just been granted re-entry into Australia, ‘The Russian’ Blizzard made a b-line for the IPW Locker room, laying out a challenge to the ‘Heart & Soul’ Cruz, stating that he can & gladly will beat the living snot out of him. Cruz calmly accepted the fiery Russian’s challenge and the match was made!

It seemed that Cruz had underestimated Blizzard, as the Russian tilted the matchup in his favor, unloading a full steam of offense into the IPW Australian Champion. But Cruz fought back valiantly, striking and running Blizzard down with a flurry of strikes and an arsenal of old school moves! Suddenly, Blizzard fought back, quickly leveling Cruz before landing his infamous “450 Cossack Stomp” flush on Cruz’s ribs. With Cruz temporarily out of action, Blizzard aimed his sights at Cruz’s ‘little mate’, Muze. Blizzard threw the mini-man into the ring, choking out the miniature Cruz before heading out of the ring to find a nearby foreign object. Having returned to his senses, a now angered Cruz eventually let his temper get the better of him, leveling Blizzard with a steel chair leading to the DQ loss.

In yours truly, The Flashman’s opinion, I don’t think we’ve seen the last of these two warriors match up. Odds are that at some stage, Cruz will be wanted to hunt down ‘The Russian’ and show him the true meaning of ‘Australian Pride’.

MATCH 2 - SUBMISSION MATCH

Poison def. Steven Magnus via submission, following “The Venom Vice”

MATCH 3 - LETHAL LOTTERY MATCH FOR THE VACANT IPW CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Reaper def. Shorty, Jimmy Geek, Zach Geek, Mike Watt, Dave Law, “Angry” Angus McTavish, Luke Viper and Flashman to win the vacant IPW Cruiserweight Championship!

I knew, heading into this match, that all the odds would be staked against me. How could I, the Flashman, who has seemingly fought off all contenders to the point where I now hold the longest reign for being the cruiserweight champion,  suddenly be back competing for the belt one more time. As I predicted, I was enemy #1. Though managing to eliminate Angus McTavish and fend off the pumped up Mike Watts, my Flashmatic vision had been blind sighted by the likes of Shorty, whom quickly countered and disposed of yours truly. As I looked on in shock, Reaper ascended the top rope, quickly landing a massive swanton bomb to finish off Shorty and capture the Cruiserweight Championship! Despite Reaper’s well deserved win, perhaps the Flashman should let go of his Cruiserweight dreams and move onto bigger and better ideas within IPW...

MATCH 4 - #1 CONTENDERSHIP FOR THE IPW SOUTH PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

Diamond def. Tenacious, via pinfall, following “The Diamond Drop”.

I was there when Diamond first made his debut into IPW. I watched as he found an allegiance in Kiwi Thriller, fought valiantly against ‘the tyrant’ Skhorn and saw him rise up and capture the IPW Australian championship. But the ferocity that was shown behind Diamond’s eyes that night was something that I, the Flashman, had never seen before! Trust me, I did not envy Tenacious being in that match! Though he fought against Diamond well, it seemed that the hidden anger of Diamond proved too much. Here’s hoping Diamond figures out whats causing his anger!

MATCH 5 - #1 CONTENDERSHIP FOR THE IPW AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP

R.I.P. def. Ashe via pinfall following “The Bogan Buster”, to become the number one contender for the IPW Australian Championship.

Following the end of the Lords of Darkness, Ashe had always wanted payback against R.I.P., who was seemingly inducted by the then leader, Ashe, before R.I.P. fought against and eventually removed Ashe! What better match to end (or perhaps re-ignite?) their feud with the winner of the match going on to face the IPW Australian champion! With his technical background coming into play, Ashe held off the ‘Giant’ R.I.P., moving with purpose to hopefully wear down and defeat his looming opponent. But, alas, R.I.P. knew his ‘Dark Masters’ trick’s well, eventually catching and defeating ‘The Resident Evil of IPW’ via pinfall.

MATCH 6 - SINGLE MATCH (NON-TITLE)

Slammin’ Sam def. Wolfman by pinfall, following a school boy rollup.

Living by the term of ‘Hardcore Rules!’, IPW Hardcore Champion, Wolfman, attempted to use his patented knuckle dusters towards the end of the match, but was swatted when the referee intervened! With Wolfman un-armed and the official temporarily distracted, Sam snuck behind and quickly rolled up Wolfman, stealing the win! A vengeful Wolfman immediately offered Sam a shot at his IPW Hardcore Title on the next show, to which Sam accepted.

MATCH 7 - SWEET ASS OPEN INVITATIONAL CHALLENGE

Jackaroo def. Sweet Ass via pinfall following “The Jackhammer”.

With his famed tag partner on home soil (Front row in NZ, watching the All Blacks V Wallabies), Sweet Ass decided to test his luck, stating that he had laid out an “open challenge” to any ‘Australian’ wrestler in the locker room with “balls big enough” to come out and take the Wallaby jersey (which he had sacrilegiously monogrammed with “Sweet Ass # 1”) from his back. Before Sweet Ass could say, well, Sweet Ass! “The Aussie Icon” Jackeroo emerged, quickly accepting the challenge before quickly disposing of Sweet Ass - in less than five minutes! After nailing “The Dingo Drop” and two “Jackhammers” for the win, Jackaroo then removed the jersey from the K.O’d Sweet Ass restoring Aussie Pride to the IPW World

I’ve previously been aligned to the Sweet Assassin, and I’ve seen this tactic undertaken before. Here’s hoping Jackaroo will sleep with one eye open, as the Sweet Assassin never forgets!

MAIN EVENT - IPW SOUTH PACIFIC CHAMPIONSHIP

Skhorn (Parts Unknown) def Daxon Kage (Western Australia), via pinfall, following both “The Corpse Grinder” and “The Noisy Cricket”, to retain the IPW South Pacific Championship

Daxon Kage emerged into the IPW World, claming that he was worthy of carrying the South Pacific Championship and that Skhorn would be left in the dust. Yours truly wanted to be in the crowd to watch ‘The Traveller’ Kage verse our ‘Tyrant’ Skhorn. Despite the lack of better words, Skhorn delivered a brutal barrage against Kage. But in an incredible display of sportsmanship, Kage stood his ground and began to use the pain delivered by Skhorn as some sort of ‘second wind’, to which Kage fought back and almost defeated our champion!

In the end, I witnessed the sheer strength of Skhorn. Skhorn came back with a vengeance, scooping up Kage and delivering both of his infamous finishers to down and defeat Kage.

Kage was quite admirable in defeat, telling the crowd that he respected the power of Skhorn, and now knew why he was “The Hardest Man in IPW”. He vowed to return as soon as possible to avenge the loss.
